Full Compliance with FCRA and FACT Act Requirements

Abso actively monitors consumer protection and privacy legislation so we can continuously improve our processes and products to help ensure compliance with:

  • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
  • Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act)
  • Driver’s Privacy and Protection Act (DPPA)
  • Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
  • American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
  • Other federal and state laws, rules, and regulations

Assuring Compliance

Our solutions help protect your company from unintentional oversights by automating compliance with many of the federal and state laws, rules, and regulations that govern the screening process. Abso reviews each consumer report before posting it to your account to assure compliance with any reporting restrictions imposed by the state where the candidate will be employed. We can also automate and manage a variety of tasks and services that help assure compliance and that reduce administrative overhead.

  • Managed State Compliance Notices
  • Managed Adjudication Services
  • Managed Adverse Action Services

Abso provides you with proforma documents for notice, disclosure, and consent that have been prepared in accordance with all known federal and state requirements. These forms are available in hard copy and in paperless form through the website.

Keeping You Informed

We also work to keep you abreast of changes in consumer protection legislation that could affect how you access and use consumer reports. Abso is a founding member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). Founded in 2003 as a non-profit trade association, NAPBS represents the interests of companies offering employment and background screening services. We hold seats on key committees, including the government affairs committee, to advocate for the screening industry with both federal and state authorities.
