In 2000, a group of HR managers came together to solve a pervasive need in the industry—reducing burdensome manual processes. Hiring managers needed to act quickly to secure the best talent, but accessing and sharing information on candidates slowed their ability to make decisions.

Technology held the key to automation, but it couldn’t replace the value that experienced, hands-on service added to the screening process. Abso emerged as a unique provider of innovative offerings that coupled personal service with leading technology to help hiring managers streamline background screening. The solution was unmatched by any provider, regardless of size, and quickly established Abso as a leader in the background screening industry.

Rapid Advancements

The industry recognized the extent to which Abso's solutions freed their hiring managers from the manually intensive tasks of the background screening process. Just a year after its inception, Abso secured its first Fortune 100 customer, catapulting the company into a period of rapid growth.

Expanding Portfolio

As the company expanded, Abso moved beyond background screening to drug screening, introducing solutions to streamline talent management for the end-to-end hiring process. From job boards to integrated talent acquisition, screening, assessment, and onboarding components, we built our portfolio while continuing to emphasize the importance of delivering personal service.

Industry Accolades

In 2005 and 2006, Abso was included on Inc. magazine’s list of the 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies. We were selected as one of 50 companies to be tracked on the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA) Tech Index, which measures the health of the regional technology economy by tracking the leading 50 tech and life science companies in the region.

  • Abso releases its 5th generation employment screening solution - Screening Edition®. Screening Edition is available as a standalone module or as part of the fully integrated management suite - Talent Edition®.

2007

  • Abso releases its 3rd generation talent management solution - Talent Edition® - with fully integrated cognitive and skill assessments module

  • Form I-9 Confirmation Service introduced, helping clients more easily verify employment eligibility

  • Abso acquires Phenix Group to expand its presence in the aviation employment market

  • Abso strengthens its it focus on vertical market with the acquisition of Unisource Screening

2006

  • Abso is once again recognized among Inc. magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies

  • Abso introduces Intelligent Search™ for contextual and AI based resume, skills and profile matching
